Celtic 'told' Arne Engels transfer fee as Mateusz Bogusz spotted travelling in the US and Auston Trusty addressed

Celtic have reportedly been told by Augsburg they are holding out for £10m for Arne Engels.

The Belgian wants to join Brendan Rodgers' side before the window closes – and it appears the Bundesliga side are softening their hardline stance on the 20-year-old having previously been holding out for as much as £12m for the midfielder. Celtic have had an initial bid turned down in the region of £6.5m but have returned with a second offer in the region of £9m as they test the resolve of the Bavarian side.

But The Sun claim Augsburg want "closer to £10m" for a player considered Celtic's top target and the man target to succeed Matt O'Riley in the Hoops midfield engine room. If the champions agree to the demands of the German club it would see them smash the record that have paid out for a player for the second time this window – topping the £9.5m spent to take Adam Idah from Norwich City.

A deal for Mateusz Bogusz also looks set to go to the wire as he is set to be included in LAFC's squad for their clash with Seattle Sounders. Record Sport understands that the Scottish Premiership champions still have an offer on the table for Bogusz - but they are under the valuation set by the Major League Soccer side.

Talks remain ongoing between the two parties as Celtic look to add the Pole - and he has now been spotted in Washington State for their US Open Cup clash that will take place in the early hours of Thursday morning. While he has been sighted in training, it remains to be seen if he will be in the squad come kick off as Celtic push for a deal.

Celtic have launched a £5million bid for Auston Trusty - and Sheffield United boss Chris Wilders has admitted there are offers that the Blades have to consider before the deadline.
