Kieran Tierney to Celtic transfer return will '100 per cent happen' as Adam Idah could be £30million man

Aiden McGeady reckons Kieran Tierney is nailed on to play for Celtic again, he's just not sure when.

The Scotland star remains out of the picture at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta following a loan to Real Sociedad last season. Even if it wasn't for an injury suffered during a doomed Euro 2024 campaign, Oleksandr Zinchenko would likely have started the Premiership opener at home to Wolves last weekend in any case.

He's been linked with moves away and a return from Celtic has never been ruled out. The boyhood Hoops fan is said to be more than open to pulling on the green and white again, but the financial odds are stacked against it happening this season, although the Premiership champions do have cash to burn. However, Tierney would need to take a major pay cut. With Greg Taylor out of contract in the summer and no real back up, calls to bring Tierney home will only intensify if he remains in the shadows in North London. And McGeady is convinced it's going to happen, it's just a question of timing.

Speaking to BoyleSports, who offer the latest Celtic v Rangers odds, McGeady said: "I think 100% it's going to happen at some point, Kieran Tierney returning to Celtic, but the timing on that remains to be seen.

"I'd be very surprised if he doesn't play again for Celtic again, but the whole situation has surprised me because he settled in so well with Arsenal when he first arrived there.

"I don't even think it was a loss of form, maybe down to the injury, and then all of a sudden Mikel Arteta changes his options and finds a different way of playing. I’m very surprised that it hasn’t quite happened for him at Arsenal but I can't see him returning to Celtic just now.
