The best (and worst) GP surgeries in Greater Manchester for getting appointments

New NHS data shows the performance of GP surgeries across Greater Manchester - including the best and worst practices for getting an appointment on the same day and within three weeks of booking.

Newly released public data has been shared by the NHS, covering GP practice performance over February. It shows the percentage of appointments which took place 3 weeks or more after booking, the percentage of appointments which were on the same day, the percentage of appointments which were face-to-face, and the average number of days between booking an appointment and seeing the GP.

The best performing surgeries included Al-Shifa Medical Centre in Withington, The Dale Medical Practice in Rochdale, and Reut Medical Practice in Salford - all of which had zero per cent of appointments taking place three weeks after booking, with an average of one day between booking a slot and seeing the doctor. Hawkley Brook Medical Practice in Wigan also scored highly, with 90.1 per cent of appointments happening on the same day as their booking, and 0.1 per cent happening three weeks after their booking.

King Street Medical Centre in Dukinfield scored highly on face-to-face appointments, with 99.9 per cent happening in-person during February. Windermere Surgery in Middleton, St Gabriel's Medical Centre in Prestwich, and Dickenson Road Medical Centre in Longsight all had above 99 per cent of appointments face-to-face.
