Sutton, Boyd and Clement air differing Rangers complaints as Celtic hero airs biggest fear among Ibrox diehards

Rangers boss Philippe Clement reckons that the draw with Hearts was a fair result - before confessing his side missed John Lundstram.

But Chris Sutton and Kris Boyd came up with alternative theories for why the Light Blues' struggled to find top gear in the opening game of the Scottish Premiership season. Connor Barron - the only summer signing who started the 0-0 draw - filled the role left vacant by Scouser Lundstram as he left at the end of last season for Trabzonspor - and Clement told Sky Sports that the squad is still finding it's feet amid the summer overhaul.

The Belgian said: "We didn't play a good first half. We lacked physicality in the duels and after we had the ball we were impatient and didn't have a lot of quality and were out of position - some players - so, we showed that at half-time and in the second half we took control of the game. Then, we played better football. It is not top yet but we know that, with the players coming in and the players we lost. "A lot were here last season, some missed pre-season and there is a lot that were new like Connor Barron. You miss a really important part without John Lundstram there to lead the team out of the midfield. Oscar Cortes, also, coming out of an injury and he was unlucky today that he hurt his knee by falling down under a tackle. We know we need to improve things. In the end it's a fair result."

Unimpressed Celtic hero Sutton reckons the problems run much deeper. He was left struggling to pinpoint what the style of play Clement was trying to implement. He said: "We know there is a rebuild going on, but it was very flat. I still don't actually understand their style
