Bradaric purchase price set, Cantwell rotting away and Hagi finds ally – Rangers transfer state of play

Rangers have reportedly been told Salernitana's asking price to allow Domagoj Bradaric to leave the club with the left-back tipped with a loan switch.

Philippe Clement looks to have been sent back into the market following an injury to Ridvan Yilmaz - which could keep the Turkish international out for up to six weeks and leaves Jefte as the only option on the left side of the Light Blues' defence. Reports in Italy suggest that Rangers have "shown interest" in taking the 24-year-old on loan from the Serie B side with an option to buy, but Salernitana are said to be pushing for an obligation to purchase should the Croatia international meet performance-based incentives while in Govan.

Croatian outlet Index report that the Italian side want the purchase option to be set at around £4.2million - having paid just over £3.5million to sign him from Lille in 2022. However, a deal may not be straighforward with the Scottish Premiership side looking to offload players before adding.

One of those is Todd Cantwell - who has been dropped to the B team after handing in a transfer request. Trabzonspor have been touted as a potential destination but the Turkish side have yet to make a formal offer.

And after dropping out of the first-team plans, the playmaker has been accused of "running away from a challenge" by pundit Rory Loy. The irked ex-Ibrox player told BBC Sportsound: "One thing that baffled me when Clement came out and spoke about Cantwell, he said Todd Cantwell was honest with him and said he wanted a new challenge.
