Supermarket brings back 19p Christmas veg prices for Easter

With shoppers wanting to keep costs down this Easter, many families will be cooking their own roast dinner to have at home.

Now one supermarket is doing its bit to help, by bringing back the 19p Christmas veg prices ahead of the weekend.

From today, March 25, Morrisons has cut the price of traditional Sunday roast dinner staples, with packs of carrots, parsnips, kale and whole swede on offer for just 19p each.

Not only that but Morrisons More Card holders can get a whopping 50% off 100% British Topside and Silverside Beef Joints, down from £12/kg to £5.99/kg, and 100% British Pork Leg, down from £7/kg to £3.49/kg.

And for a traditional Easter lamb dinner, Morrisons Whole Leg of Lamb is down from £13/kg to £6.49/kg.

For customers looking for an alternative centrepiece for their Easter celebrations, card holders can also get 40% of a Whole British Salmon, down from £13.50/kg to just £7.99/kg.

A number of supermarkets launched 19p veg for Christmas - with some even cheaper at 15p - so it's expected other supermarkets may follow Morrisons' lead with the Easter offers too.

Rachel Eyre, Morrisons chief customer and marketing officer at Morrisons, said: “This Easter we’re doing even more to offer our customers the very best of British fare, by cutting the price on many dinner table favourites, including prime roasting joints and the freshest seasonal vegetables for a great value celebration.”
