Popeyes confirms launch date for massive Greater Manchester drive-thru

Popeyes has announced the opening date for its second Manchester site. The popular fried chicken chain will open its first drive-thru restaurant in Greater Manchester in late April.

The restaurant, which opens on April 24 will be located on on 288-292 Bury New Road and will bring 80 new jobs to the local area. Plans include 72 seats indoors and 8 outside, a dual-ordering lane to reduce queues, kerbside collection from specifically designated bays when you order online via the website and car park for customers who would like to eat inside the restaurant.

The famed chicken spot opened its first Manchester site on Piccadilly Gardens in October, with people queuing overnight to be the first to try its viral chicken sandwich. The dish was introduced to the American market in 2019 and sold out in record time, with the internet going into meltdown over the long queues.

Guests looking to visit the new branch on launch day are being advised to get down quickly to beat the round-the-block queues which have become synonymous with Popeyes UK launches. Ahead of the launch, chicken fans can also enter for the chance of winning a chicken sandwich at the opening of the new venue by signing up on the Popeyes' website.

As well as its much-loved sandwiches, original southern biscuits and gravy, the new drive-thru will also be serving up it's breakfast menu, including breakfast rolls, a variety of breakfast muffins, Cajun hash browns and their famous Louisiana buttermilk biscuits served with cinnamon sugar or Nutella.
