Stoke City left-back Josh Tymon profiled amid Leeds United links

Leif Davis, who spent the previous campaign on loan in the Championship with AFC Bournemouth, is currently the Whites’ only senior left-back available for selection.

Rangers are also interested in the 23-year-old, who played in all but two of Stoke’s 46 Championship matches last term. Tymon is contracted to the Potters until 2025 and Stoke boss Michael O’Neill has previously tipped him to play at the highest level.

“Aesthetically he’s probably at the peak of where we are as a squad,” O’Neill told our sister publication Stoke on Trent Live in February. “He has all the attributes you need to play at the top level and he’s developing his game all the time.

“His decision making is getting better, his final ball is getting better. What he has to do now as a more natural left-back is development defensively as well and I think he’s doing well at that.”

Tymon has experience playing at left-back and left-wing back and has played in the top-flight with the Potters, Hull City and Portuguese side Famalicao.

He joined Hull’s youth set-up in 2011 and made his professional debut in the FA Cup during a 3-1 victory at Bury in January 2016. He also featured for the Tigers in all but one of their matches en route to the EFL Cup semi-finals in 2016-17, a run which ended in defeat over two legs against eventual champions Manchester United.
