Steven Davis reveals Rangers demand Philippe Clement will make as club hero cherishes 'huge' Ibrox honour

Steven Davis can't wait to see how the Philippe Clement era unfolds at Rangers as he turns his focus to recovering from a knee injury.

The midfielder was handed interim charge of the club he's made himself a hero at over two spells. He's been out of playing action since last December with a knee injury but was thrust into the dugout for games against Aris Limassol and St Mirren after Michael Beale's sacking.

Davis spent a short amount of time with new boss Clement after his arrival, but will now turn his whole attention to making a recovery from his injury. The 38-year-old's insight though gives him plenty of encouragement for how things will pan out under the Belgian, who is undefeated in his first seven Rangers games. The Northern Ireland legend posted on social media: "A huge honour to be asked to step in and be interim manager @RangersFC at a difficult moment. An experience that I learnt a lot from and will always cherish.

"Thank you to the club for putting their trust in me and to the fans and all the staff for the support you all showed me during this short period. Was great to work with Philippe Clement and it’s been a really encouraging start for the team under his tenure.

"Like you all I hope it will be a long & successful partnership and I know that’s what he alongside his staff will demand everyday. Excited to see how it develops as I continue my rehab."
