Steve Bruce told he'll repeat Newcastle misery in West Brom's opener at Sheffield United

Steve Bruce won't want to remember the last time he brought a team to Bramall Lane.

Then in charge of Newcastle United, the 61-year-old came under heavy fire from his own supporters after Sheffield United secured their first win of the season - having gone 17 matches without success.

A 1-0 win, courtesy of Billy Sharp's 73rd-minute penalty, got Chris Wilder's men up and running for the season but it was a miserable night for the Magpies boss - and the Geordie support didn't half let him know!

He returns for the first time since then tomorrow evening in charge of West Brom.

It's his first game in charge of the Baggies, after succeeding Valérien Ismaël, but according to Sky Sports' EFL pundit David Prutton it will end the same way.

He believes that despite a change in the Hawthorns' dugout, it will do little to end United's current impressive run of form.

"Three wins on the bounce now for Sheffield United," Prutton said in his predictions for Sky Sports.

"The managerial switch seems to be working right now and the play-offs are within sight.

"West Brom have also made a change. The fans had turned on Valerien Ismael, and when that happens you tend not to last too much longer.

"Steve Bruce is in, and he is a man who knows how to get out of this league. But with the Blades on such good form, I think he may well start with a defeat."
