Forget Grant: Bruce must ruthlessly axe “overzealous” West Brom dud, he’s a liability - opinion

Having played two Championship games under the management of Steve Bruce, West Brom have failed to win either or them or even score a goal since the former Newcastle United boss replaced Valerien Ismael.

Their latest league fixture sees them travel to Luton Town this afternoon to once again try and pick up their first victory under Bruce.

In terms of which players the 61-year-old could pick to be in his starting XI to take on Nathan Jones’ side, one player that started in West Brom’s previous league game against Blackburn Rovers that saw the Baggies secure a point with a 0-0 draw, that we feel should not be in the team on this occasion is midfielder Jayson Molumby.

Since joining the Midlands club on a loan deal from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion back in the previous summer transfer window, the 22-year-old has played in 19 league games for the Baggies, starting nine of them.

In those games, as well as not managing to score a goal or provide an assist, the midfielder has only managed to earn himself a rather underwhelming overall performance rating of 6.49/10 from WhoScored, making him one of their lowest-rated players to have started more than one league game this season.

His previous performance in a West Brom shirt in the draw against Blackburn earned the loanee a rather disappointing overall match rating of 6.2/10 from SofaScore, lower than Karlan Grant who only managed to rack up one shot at goal, which was off target and was the only other Baggies player as well as Molumby to not complete the full 90 minutes.
