Stats and Facts: It's Verstappen's Red Bull Show as F1 goes on summer break
Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing took another victory in 2023, this time around the famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium.
The defending two-time Formula 1 champion started the race in sixth place but was leading by Lap 17. The win was Verstappen's tenth of the season and eighth in a row.
It was Red Bull's 12th victory for this year - the other two coming courtesy of Sergio Perez earlier in the season.
With teams and drivers now going on a well-deserved four-week break, this is how some of F1's record books look post-Belgium.
Stats and Facts
- Verstappen's Belgian Grand Prix victory came with a 22.305-second advantage over teammate Perez. Last year, Verstappen led Perez over the line by 17.841 seconds.
- With his eighth successive win, Verstappen is now second on the all-time list of consecutive F1 victories. Sebastian Vettel holds the record for nine (with Red Bull in 2013).

- With all the points accumulated thus far in 2023, Verstappen's 314 points are already more than Vettel's title-winning totals in 2010 (256 points) and 2012 (281 points).
- It was the first time in Verstappen's career that he won from sixth on the grid. He now ties with Fernando Alonso for winning from nine different grid positions.
- It is the 13th consecutive time Verstappen finished an F1 race on the podium. He is equalled or bested only by Alonso (13), Lewis Hamilton (16), and Michael Schumacher (19).
- Red Bull now holds the record for winning the most races from the beginning of a single season, breaking McLaren's 1988 record of 11 Grands Prix.
