State of play as Max Lowe makes transfer admission about Nottingham Forest future

On-loan defender Max Lowe has indicated he is keen to stay at Nottingham Forest beyond the end of the season.

And whatever division the Reds find themselves in come the summer, it will be a big transfer window for head coach Steve Cooper and the club.

A number of positions will require looking at, while incomings and outgoings will be on the horizon as Cooper looks to further shape his squad.

Lowe, who is spending the season at the City Ground on loan from Sheffield United, has been a key figure under the Welshman, holding down a starting spot and being consistently solid in his 21 games for Forest so far.

We take a look at what’s been said about his future ahead of any decision being made at the end of the campaign.

The left-back has said: “I’m loving it. I haven’t had a bad day since I came into the building, to be honest, other than when I was injured.

“Not just myself, all the loan lads, we all want to stay here. We’re all loving it. Keinan (Davis) loves it. We all speak so highly about the club and the fans.

“I just don’t take any day for granted - being with the gaffer and the staff. Everyone here has been really nice. Long may that continue.

“I appreciate the way I’m getting treated as a player and as a person.

“I can’t look beyond this season, but I’m happy playing football at Forest at the moment. The gaffer knows that and everyone at the club knows how much I want to stay.

“But that’s not in my hands, so I’m just going to keep playing as well as I can each week and do my part to help the team.

“There’s definitely a lot to play for. Say at the end of the season I do end up going back to Sheffield United, I want this to be one of the best seasons in my career so far, so it needs to finish on a high.
