Sheffield United's Max Lowe says Nottingham Forest fans are the best he's played in front of
Max Lowe has claimed that the Nottingham Forest supporters are the best he has played in front of during his career. The left-back is currently on loan at The Reds from Sheffield United and has shone under Steve Cooper, making 22 appearances across all competitions.
After joining the Blades from Derby County in 2020, Lowe struggled for regular game time in the Premier League last season and has since fallen down the pecking order. Enda Stevans and Rhys Norrington-Davies have both been preferred in that position, although it was Slavisa Jokanovic who sent him out on loan.
It has been a successful stint for Lowe, who has helped Forest from rock bottom and on the verge of breaking into the Championship play-offs, with The Reds also reaching the FA Cup quarter-final. However, Lowe was unable to play in the 1-0 defeat against Liverpool with a groin issue.
While he has been recovering from his injury, Lowe has discussed why the Forest fans are the best he has played under, which is ahead of the likes of Derby County. This is despite never playing in front of the Blades supporters.
He told Nottinghamshire Live: "I’m not going to lie, even when we play away, sometimes it feels like a home game because the fans come in numbers. In the huddle before kick-off, you can’t even hear Wozza speaking, which says a lot. I’ve been at four teams now and they are the best home fans I’ve played in front of, easily. It’s definitely a standout.
"A lot of boys who I know personally, who we have played against at home, have said what an atmosphere it is. I can’t speak highly enough about it. I think everyone is thriving in the atmosphere. Every time we get on the ball, you just feel the confidence coming from the fans. It makes you want to be
