St Johnstone 1 Aberdeen 1: David Keltjens nets debut goal to earn Saints draw

Delighted David Keltjens marked his Perth debut with a goal to earn St Johnstone a point at McDiarmid Park.

The recently-signed defender showed more determination than anyone to nod Saints level in the 78th minute of the contest.

The Perth side were required to fight back after Bojan Miovski had tucked into the net from the penalty spot earlier in the second half.

Anyone delving into pre-match stats would soon discover that Saints have found great difficulty in finding the back of the net against the Dons.

And, the way this game started, it unfortunately appeared those who had decided to venture down to the Perth stadium were in for similar treatment.

The game was crying out for the slightest piece of quality and, in the 49th minute, Carey stepped up to the plate to deliver it.

He watched intently as the ball dropped out of the night sky before swinging a volley low into the net from the corner of the box.

It was a wonderful display of technical ability but VAR would get its chance to intervene and it was decided there was a foul by Liam Gordon
