SPFL announce play-off fixture dates and TV schedules as Airdrie and Hamilton Accies go for promotion

The SPFL have confirmed the fixture schedule and TV selections for this season's end-of-season play-offs.

A few Lanarkshire clubs will be involved in the drama with Airdrieonians and Hamilton Accies pushing for promotion to the Premiership and Championship, respectively, while Lowland League East Kilbride are hoping to earn their place in SPFL League Two through the pyramid play-offs.

One club hoping not to be involved is Clyde, who are currently bottom of League Two with two games remaining to avoid dropping into the pyramid play-off final against either East Kilbride or Highland League champions Buckie Thistle, who play their first leg on Saturday.

Airdrie have the toughest task as they will need to come through SIX matches in just two weeks to reach the Premiership.

Their path is already set with Partick Thistle awaiting them on May 7 in the quarter-final first leg, with the return leg on Friday, May 10. Both are live on BBC Scotland.

The winners from that will go through to face the second place side in the Championship - very likely to be Raith Rovers - over two legs on May 14 and 17, while the victors of that tie then face the second-bottom side from the Premiership (currently Ross County) in the final over two legs.

Hamilton Accies will play Alloa Athletic in their Championship play-off semi-final, which will be played over two legs on May 7 and 11.

The SPFL have not confirmed the dates for the pyramid play-off final, but that is set to take place on May 11 and May 18.

The schedule they have released is as follows:

Tuesday May 7
cinch Premiership play-off quarter-final, 1st leg
4th in Championship v 3rd in Championship
Live on BBC Scotland, kick-off 7.45pm

Friday May 10
cinch Premiership play-off quarter-final,
