Eurovision 2024 final as it happened and results as Switzerland declared winner

Switzerland has been named winner of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest, Singer Nemo finished top of the leaderboard with 591 points at Sweden's Malmo Arena on Saturday.

Performers from 25 nations took to the stage to sing their chosen song in front of a TV audience of tens of millions of people watching across the globe.

Representing the UK tonight was former Years & Years frontman Olly Alexander, who performed his electro-infused track Dizzy.

While his score of 46 was higher than last year's entrant, Mae Muller, the UK still finished eighth from last.

Hours before the final the European Broadcasting Union announced Dutch act Joost Klein will not compete in the song contest's grand final as police investigate a complaint of inappropriate behaviour. Dutch broadcaster Avrtotros called Klein's exclusion "disproportionate".

Organisers were made to issue another statement after Ireland's Bambie Thug missed their dress rehearsal ahead of tonight's final. The Eurovision Song Contest grand final takes place on Saturday from 8pm and will be broadcast live on BBC One and iPlayer.

At the end of the jury and public vote results, Switzerland won Eurovision with 591 points while Croatia finished in second with 547 points and France completed the contest in third with 445.
