Sparta Prague boss warns Rangers Czechs WILL qualify from Europa League group as he targets Betis repeat

Sparta Prague boss Brian Priske has warned Rangers his side are set up perfectly for their upcoming double header, despite losing to Real Betis

The Ibrox side head to the Czech Republic later this month in the first of their back-to-back encounters with Sparta, following their shock 2-1 loss to Europa League Group C minnows Aris Limassol. Thursday night's results leave all four teams level on three points and the same goal difference of zero.with the Czechs top based on their head-to-head record against Aris.

Betis bounced back from their defeat in Glasgow in the first round of games by beating Sparta in a 2-1 victory in Seville. But Danish boss Priske reckons his side can take enormous heart from the defeat because they outplayed the La Liga side. He said: "In many ways we played great. And if we perform like that for the remaining four games, we will qualify.

"I liked how we imposed our style on Betis and we were clearly the dominant team in the first half in particular. Of course, Betis recovered and we expected that because they were at home, but we still kept the ball, we forced them to run a lot, which they didn't like at all.

"Offensively and defensively, we played exactly as we wanted for a long time. We are disappointed to leave with no points.

"The atmosphere helped Betis eventually and you must remember they have enormous individual quality and complete correct decision-making at key moments. But I think the boys deserved more than a 2-1 defeat. Now we have two games against Rangers and we have a chance to impose ourselves on the group."
