Southern Counties East League round-up: Play-off rivals meet as Rusthall put five past Bearsted while Larkfield & New Hythe draw with Fisher

Rusthall thumped Premier Division play-off rivals Bearsted for the second time in two weeks.

The Rustics - 4-0 winners when the sides met in the Challenge Cup final over Easter - inflicted a 5-1 defeat to move above the Bears into fourth place on goal difference.

Jack Kirby scored either side of a Charlie Clover goal as Rusthall led 3-0 at half-time.

Jake Embery replied from the penalty spot but Louie Clarke’s double moved Rusthall clear.

Larkfield & New Hythe shared a goalless draw with Fisher when third met second at the Eden Estates Stadium.

Relegated Hythe Town were thrashed 9-0 at home by Faversham Strike Force.

Blu Husthwaite scored a first-minute own goal, followed by an Alex Willis penalty and efforts from Joe Kay and Josh Oliver as Strike Force led 4-0 at half-time.

Oliver struck again just after the break, with Harry Taylor, Haydon Wood, Ali Wren and a second for Willis completing the scoring as the Cannons suffered a heavy defeat.

Second-bottom Stansfeld twice came from a goal down to earn a point at Kennington.

Ryan Philpott and Fin Dent struck for Ton, with Jack Calvert and Nana Kuffour on target for the visitors in a 2-2 draw.

Sutton Athletic hit back from 2-0 down to lead Holmesdale 3-2 before losing a seven-goal thriller.

Harry Britten, Ollie Milton and Ashdon Day turned the match on its head after Mecca Samuels and Deandre Williams put Holmesdale in charge.

But there was late drama as Ali Mansaray and an injury-time second for Williams gave the away side a 4-3 victory.

Rhys Bartlett’s second-half strike cancelled out an early Ross Obazee goal as Tunbridge Wells secured a 1-1 draw at home to Corinthian.

Louie Griggs scored two minutes from time as Snodland, having trailed to a Nathan Mampono goal, drew
