Snodland Town joint-managers Luke Jessup and Fred Dillon announce departure in open letter

Joint-managers Luke Jessup and Fred Dillon have left Snodland Town.

The pair announced their resignation in an open letter to chairman Dave Jeal and vice-chairman Tim Guard after Town ended the Southern Counties East Premier Division season in 12th place.

Snodland were in play-off contention before falling away in the last couple of months, taking only two points from the final seven games.

They did, though, enjoy their best-ever run in the FA Vase, reaching the third round.

Jessup led Town to Challenge Cup glory in 2025, beating Forest Hill Park 5-0 in the final, before being joined at the helm by Dillon.

“This has not been an easy decision but it is one I feel I need to make to better balance my family, work and personal life,” said Jessup.

“Right now, I’m naturally devastated to write this letter but I don’t feel I can give each area the full energy and focus it deserves and I want to be in a position where I can give 110% across everything I do.

“Snodland Town deserves a manager who can keep the club at the very front of their mind at all times, and I believe this is the right rime to step aside to allow that to happen.

“I want to put on record how truly incredible Snodland Town is as a club, as well as all the people involved.

“The support system behind the team is first class, and the backing over the last two seasons has been nothing short of magnificent.

“It has been an honour to represent you and to be the manager of this football club.”

Dillon confirmed he would also be leaving Snodland.

He said: “I have loved my time at the football club but I also feel now is the right time to step down.

“I can't thank Dave and Tim enough for the support they have showed us from day one and that support never wavered.
