Sofyan Amrabat could hold the key to new Manchester United tactic

Manchester United are in need of a lift, and they could get one this weekend.

After what has felt like an exceptionally long international break, United return to action when they host Brighton on Saturday, well aware that a win is required to raise spirits after a testing few weeks.

Erik ten Hag will hope that the football can do the talking this weekend, a mantra that is echoed by summer arrival Sofyan Amrabat ahead of his possible debut.

"I don't like to speak about myself," he admitted last week. "I want to show it on the pitch, but I can promise that I will give my best with everything; every day, every minute, every second. So, it is the only thing that I can say now."

Amrabat is already one of the most popular players before he has even stepped onto the pitch in club colours, and there is a real sense of excitement amongst the fanbase over what he could bring to the side this season.

The 27-year-old was one of the stars at the World Cup in Qatar as Morocco made history, but having only signed on a loan, he now faces the challenge of proving why United should trigger their option to buy him at the end of it.

Motivation won't be an issue for Amrabat as he looks to extend his stay beyond a solitary season, and there is hope he could be involved against Brighton after not featuring over the international break.

Amrabat's arrival finally looks to have given United a worthy replacement for midfield maestro Casemiro in the defensive role, though Ten Hag has already suggested that he could look to use the pair together against elite opposition.
