Sir Jim Ratcliffe has explained Man United's Leny Yoro transfer decision to Matthijs De Ligt

Manchester United are set to sign Lille centre-back Leny Yoro - putting a move for Bayern Munich's Matthijs De Ligt in doubt.

The French defender has agreed to join Erik ten Hag's team this summer in a deal rising to €70million (£58.7m). Yoro has been one of Europe's most sought-after centre-backs with Real Madrid and Liverpool also said to have been interested.

And previous words from United's co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe have suggested why the club may have prioritised a deal for the Frenchman over a move
