Shota Arveladze urges Hull City to address specific shortcoming

The Tigers have among the worst home form in the entire Championship and are currently four games without a goal at the MKM Stadium.

But following the side’s triumphant 2-0 win away to play-off challengers Coventry City, Arveladze believes the team can now focus on improving their form in front of their own support. 

Arveladze has recognised how poor the club’s recent results have been at home but has admitted he is very keen to change the team’s fortunes. 

“We know we owe our supporters a good game at home and this performance will give a good message to them to come back and be around us,” said Arveladze, via Hull Live.  

“Our home performances are not as good as our away performances but I don’t think it is about the character of the team. Probably we have a little bit more pressure at home to dominate more and we need time for that.”

The win over Coventry has given Hull a comfortable 13-point cushion over the relegation zone with only eight games left to play this campaign.

This means the Tigers are all but secure in their place in the second division. 

Arveladze doesn’t want the players to lose focus however, and has used their poor home record as a way in which the team still needs to improve. 

Hull’s next home game comes this weekend as the side face another play-off challenger in Luton Town.

Hull go into this weekend’s clash 19th in the table and will be hoping to move above Bristol City if results go their way. 

It is Hull’s good away record that has given them such a gap to the relegation zone, which is quite unusual. 

No side should be this much worse at home than away. A home ground is supposed to be the bedrock for any team’s performances.
