Shota Arveladze on red card decision as he claims Hull City didn't deserve Huddersfield Town defeat
Hull City boss Shota Arveladze refused to criticise the officials after Tom Eaves was shown a second yellow card against Huddersfield Town, but claimed his side deserved more from the game. The Tigers were dealt a late blow when Harry Toffolo poked home a rebound to give Town their first win in three games.
The result reignites Towns play-off push after back to back defeats with just six games to go. As for Hull, the hosts may have done just enough to secure their Championship status, but are on a torrid run of form under new boss Arveladze.
"I think we should have got more from the game, I've probably said this after the last game but today I'm probably more disappointed," the Georgian boss told Hull Live.
"We stayed in the game right to the end, I am pleased with the boys and I said to them well done with how they played. With 10 men, we all know it is not easy to dominate. I think the boys did well. The decision has been made, when there's a coming together and one player goes down, it happens.
"With 20 seconds to go until the break I'm planning what to say and then this happens, it's not easy. I made a change in the final 12 minutes to go, playing two strikers and you're hoping something drops.
"I think in general we should have got more, we didn't deserve to lose this. I won't complain about the sending off, the only thing I can say is that in this league, it seems easy to give. It wasn't a late tackle, both players bounce off each other, it wasn't a shirt pull or a late foul. You could let him go, I see lots of these tackles in games and play goes on - I'm not complaining, this is the way I read it. We have to be smart, of course."
