Sheppey United joint-manager Ian Batten says winning is all that matters when the Ites visit Isthmian South East bottom side East Grinstead

Joint-manager Ian Batten is taking nothing for granted as Sheppey United look to end their wait for a win against Isthmian South East’s bottom side.

The Ites visit East Grinstead on Saturday (3pm), knowing they have a big chance to land a first win in nine matches against a team with just five points to their name.

Batten and brother George started their reign with a 2-1 home defeat against Broadbridge Heath last weekend, despite taking an early lead through Kieron Agbebi.

Sheppey signed forward Louie Dayal and midfielder Michael Luxton on loan from Gillingham, along with Herne Bay defender Louie Procopi, before facing Broadbridge.

The Battens also promoted Alex Barnes and D’Jean Spencer from Sheppey Sports.

“We’re going to try and get a couple in before Saturday if we can,” said Batten.

“We’ve got plenty of seven-dayers in but 90 per cent of the clubs make you wait
