Sheffield Wednesday's League One match at Fleetwood Town postponed after stadium damage

Sheffield Wednesday's League One fixture at Fleetwood Town on Tuesday has been postponed after damage was caused to Highbury Stadium by Storm Franklin.

A statement posted on the Owls' website read: "The Owls’ Sky Bet League One fixture against Fleetwood Town scheduled for Tuesday evening has been called off following storm damage to Highbury Stadium overnight.

"The game has had to be postponed due to safety concerns after the high winds over the last 48 hours caused structural damage to the Parkside Stand.

"The rearranged date for the match will be confirmed in due course."

Wednesday are currently eighth in League One, just outside the play-offs on goal difference, having recorded six wins from their last eight matches.
