The 28-year-old forward suffered a setback in training last month, but Moore remains optimistic Windass will play again this season. His last Owls outing came in early February.

"We feel he is making really good progress. We still think he is at least another week to 10 days before he really starts to get back into the nitty and gritty of training. We will then assess him from there.

"There is still a possibility of him looking to play some games for us before the end of the season but we have got to make sure he is right and has got his strength there."
