How well have the players Everton loaned to the EFL really done this season?

During the previous summer transfer window, Everton decided to engage in a great deal of transfer activity.

As well as securing the services of the likes of Demarai Gray, Andros Townsend and Salomon Rondon, the Toffees sanctioned temporary exits for some of their players.

Nathan Broadhead and Lewis Gibson sealed season-long loan moves to League One sides Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Lewis Warrington was allowed to join Tranmere Rovers on a temporary basis in the January window.

Here, we have decided to take a look at how these three players have been getting on in the EFL this season…

Nathan Broadhead

Broadhead initially made a relatively slow start to his spell at Sunderland before bursting into life in December.

The forward scored in the Black Cats’ League One clashes with Morecambe, Plymouth Argyle and Ipswich Town before finding the back of the net in his side’s defeat to Arsenal in the League Cup.

Unfortunately for Broadhead, he suffered a serious hamstring injury in this fixture which resulted in him temporarily returning to Goodison Park to undergo his rehabilitation.

Since making a return to full fitness earlier this year, the 24-year-old has produced some fantastic performances for Sunderland.

In his last five appearances for the club, Broadhead has scored four goals as he has helped Sunderland climb into the play-off places in the League One standings.

Lewis Gibson

Gibson would have been hoping to feature regularly for Wednesday in the third-tier this season after making a temporary move to Hillsborough.

However, the defender had to wait until October to make his first appearance due to issues with his fitness.
