Sheffield United squad to face QPR and Paul Heckingbottom's key selection decisions

Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom has had plenty to think about this week in the build-up to tonight's match at QPR. United kick off in sixth place a day before the rest of the play-off pack and know victory would leave those chasing below in must-win scenarios.

With only two matches remaining, United know destiny is in their own hands but can't afford to offer any incentive to those playing tomorrow. The Blades boss has had a small number of selection issues to contend with.

Billy Sharp made a welcome return to the matchday squad last week following his hamstring injury against Barnsley last month. He got 20 minutes under his belt after coming on as a second half substitute for Iliman Ndiaye in the 1-0 win over Cardiff.

Heckingbottom must decide if he is ready to start from the off or remain on the bench. Ndiaye and Morgan Gibbs-White impressed last time out but with the season now at a crucial stage the leading scorer will have a big part to play in helping get his side over the line.

Heckingbottom says that cameo by Sharp was important as they build him up towards a place in the starting XI. He said: "Getting those minutes was vital.

"We know how important he is to us, he's top scorer and regardless of what I think of him as a bloke and where he is in terms of his contribution here he is the top scorer and we want him."

Also on Heckingbottom's mind is the fitness of one or two others. George Baldock is unlikely to start but could be back in the squad having picked up a hamstring injury at Bristol City on Easter Monday, while John Fleck has been managing an issue.
