Sevilla perform ‘U-turn’ on Anthony Martial and other Manchester United transfer rumours

Sevilla are reportedly now open to keeping Manchester United loanee Anthony Martial on a permanent basis.

The Spanish club had seemingly ruled out the possibility a number of weeks ago, with the Frenchman being subjected to frequent booing from fans given his below-par performances. Martial has netted just once in 11 outings for Sevilla since his January switch.

The Frenchman still has two years left on his current deal at United but his frustration over a lack of game time could see him push for an exit this summer. Now, in a recent interview, sporting director Monchi said Sevilla have not ruled out making a move if Martial decides that he would rather not wait around to see if the new United manager favours him.

Speaking to Radio Sevilla (via Sports Mole), he said: “His transfer was cheaper than you think, but it's still a big bet, just six or seven million. Unfortunately, it is difficult to analyse Martial's performance when he was injured and now he is injured again.

"I'm not closing the door on his continuity although there's a lot to see and discuss with the player at the end of the season." Martial suffered a muscular injury in February that meant he missed three games for Sevilla.

Meanwhile, a number of European clubs are interested in United youngster Noam Emeran. The 19-year-old winger has become an Under-23 regular during the second half of the season.

Emeran’s contract expires this summer but he is expected to pen a new deal. Footmercato reports that German clubs Werder Bremen and Augsburg along with French outfit Nantes are interested in acquiring him on loan.
