Serious crash shut stretch of A465, near Neath

Part of the A465 in Neath Port Talbot has been shut following a serious crash. The road was closed westbound between A4230 Main Road near Aberdulais roundabout and the A474 Neath interchange.

Officers from South Wales Police say they are at the scene and that the road was expected to remain closed for some time. They have urged motorists to seek alternative routes, while delays are also expected.

A spokesman for the force said: "We are at the scene of a serious collision on the A465 from #Aberdulais near the slip road, heading to Neath. The road is currently closed. It is expected to remain closed for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Delays are expected in the area." The road has since reopened.
