Police have shut a road off this evening with a cordon in place following a serious incident.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police are in attendance in Oswald Road, Chorlton, following a reported robbery tonight. Photos from the scene show a number of officers at the scene, with police vehicles in the road.
A GMP spokeswoman has said police were called at around 8pm. One man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
"Officers are currently responding to a reported robbery on Nicholas Road, Chorlton, where a man has suffered serious injuries," she said. "He has been taken to hospital by our Ambulance Service colleagues.
"Those in the local area will see a large emergency service presence, which could continue for some time as we work to establish the full circumstances of what has happened.
"Officers are also speaking to those out and about, and we would encourage any witnesses or anyone who may have information about what has occurred to come forward to us. You can also speak to those on the ground if you have any concerns. No arrests have been made as yet."
An eyewitness told the Manchester Evening News the road had been closed off to the public at its junction with Nicolas Road, with a police helicopter reportedly spotted overhead. Crime scene forensic officers and paramedics have also been seen in attendance.
