Second Manchester United kit leaked as Courteeners follow Aitch's Glastonbury example

Courteeners frontman Liam Fray has become the second musician to show off Manchester United's new kit ahead of its official launch.

Mancunian Aitch leaked the 2023/24 home strip at Glastonbury and United have now allowed fellow United fan Fray to do the same with the away shirt. The official shirt is not released until Monday, July 24.

The Manchester-based band headlined Sheffield's Tramlines festival on Saturday, with United fan Fray changing halfway through the set in a drizzly Hillsborough park. When he returned, he was wearing the new away shirt which has been commonly leaked on social media.

He posted a picture from the dressing room online, allowing fans to get a proper glimpse of the new threads. The shirt has a dark green base, the shirt is split down front by four thick vertical white columns which themselves each include a thin red stripe.

United could debut their new kit during their upcoming pre-season friendly with Wrexham on Wednesday morning. Sharing the image on Instagram, Fray captioned the post: “Fantastic night tonight, headlining Tramlines whilst being asked to debut the new United shirt.”

Both Aitch and Fray are lifelong United fans, with their music is often heard at Old Trafford before and after games. The Courteeners' most iconic song, ‘Not Nineteen Forever’, was even used as the club’s official song to celebrate their 20th Premier League title win in 2013 under Sir Alex Ferguson.
