Scott McTominay lands eye-popping Man United transfer valuation as West Ham told only mammoth offer will do

Hardline Manchester United have told teams interested in Scott McTominay it will cost them a whopping £45million to prise the Scotland international away from Old Trafford.

The 26-year-old has two years remaining on his deal with the Red Devils and West Ham are the latest side to express an interest in a player who has made 209 appearances for the club he has starred with since childhood. McTominay was on Newcastle's wanted list before they landed former AC MIlan skipper Sandro Tonali. But the Telegraph reports David Moyes has been told it would take a monumental offer for Man United to say yes over any potential exit.

Erik Ten Hag's side are emboldened due to the sales of Alex Telles and Anthony Elanga with the club expecting in excess of £20m for Fred if he leaves. West Ham's need for central midfield reinforcements is stark after Declan Rice's £105m move to Arsenal was rubber-stamped.

They were keen on Joao Palhinha but the Fulham schemer is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a serious shoulder injury suffered against Brentford in the Premier League Summer Series clash in America. That has led Moyes back to drawing board to reignite long-term interest in his compatriot.
