Scotland double-header squad features Lanarkshire trio

Steve Clarke has named three Lanarkshire players in his Scotland squad for the upcoming internationals against Spain and France.

Scotland will take on Spain in Seville in a UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier on Friday, October 12, before facing World Cup runners-up France in a friendly in Lille on Tuesday, October 17.

Bologna midfielder Lewis Ferguson, from Quarter, Rutherglen's Kenny McLean of Norwich City and Millwall striker Kevin Nisbet, from Cambuslang, have all been called up.

Motherwell goalkeeper Liam Kelly is also back in the squad, having dropped out of the last one through injury. Muirhouse's Kieran Tierney is ruled out through a hamstring injury picked up with Real Sociedad, that will keep him side-lined for weeks.

Scotland remain top of Group A after maintaining a 100 per cent start with a 3-0 win over Cyprus last month, and beat Spain 2-0 at Hampden in March.
