Scarlets v Cardiff live: Kick-off time and score updates from Llanelli

The Scarlets host Cardiff in Llanelli this evening going in search of their first United Rugby Championship win of the season.

Dwayne Peel's side suffered two heavy defeat in South Africa against the Bulls and Stormers respectively and will be looking to bounce back against their Welsh rivals. Cardiff began their campaign with a disappointing home defeat to Benetton before claiming the east Wales bragging rights against the Dragons at Rodney Parade eight days later.

Historically, this has been one of the showpiece events in the domestic season but has been undermined today by Wales' exhibition match against the Barbarians in Cardiff. Both sides will be without a host of Wales internationals, while the Scarlets also have some injury problems on top with the likes of Sam Lousi and Josh Macleod absent.

However, the Scarlets have been boosted by the return of Wales scrum-half Gareth Davies who has been handed the captain's armband while Tonga star Vaea Fifita returns from suspension.

Kick off at 5.15pm.

Scarlets: Johnny McNicholl; Ioan Nicholas, Joe Roberts, Eddie James, Steff Evans; Ioan Lloyd, Gareth Davies (capt); Kemsley Mathias, Shaun Evans, Sam Wainwright, Alex Craig, Jac Price, Ben Williams, Teddy Leatherbarrow, Vaea Fifita.
