Rylan Clark says he 'bawled like a baby' at one thing in Olympics opening ceremony

Rylan Clark has admitted he "bawled like a baby" during the Olympic opening ceremony in Paris.

The Radio Two presenter recounted how he became emotional while witnessing music icon Celine Dion's performance at the Eiffel Tower. This marked the first time the 56-year-old singer graced the stage since her announcement of being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome in 2022.

This rare neurological disorder leads to muscle stiffness and rigidity. Dion had previously opened up about her battle with the condition, which she feared might end her performing career, in her documentary "I Am Celine Dion."

Nonetheless, Dion triumphantly returned on Friday night (July 26), delivering a stunning finale to the over four-hour-long opening ceremony for the 2024 Olympics in Paris. She sang Edith Piaf's classic "L'Hymne a l'amour" from the tower's first level, reports the Express.

Following her performance, Dion expressed her gratitude, saying: "I'm honoured to have performed tonight, for the Paris 2024 opening ceremony, and so full of joy to be back in one of my very favourite cities! Most of all, I'm so happy to be celebrating these amazing athletes, with all their stories of sacrifice and determination, pain and perseverance."

On his BBC Radio Two programme, Rylan on Saturdays, the beloved TV host revealed that Dion's performance had a profound effect on him. He shared: "It was so beautiful. Like I bawled like a baby."

He continued, expressing his awe: "I've never seen anything so beautiful. On the Eiffel Tower, just, my goodness. She was told she would never sing again."

Rylan, another Radio Two presenter, was queried by Paddy O'Connell if he had viewed the documentary yet. His response was: "I can't watch it alone. I've still not
