This Morning star admits career is 'dead' as he fumes 'this is the final straw'

This Morning presenter Will Best jokingly declared "It's the final straw" after being labelled an "idiot" live on the show.

Best, appearing from a local scarecrow festival, had decided to dress up as one of the models. Speaking via video link to presenters Josie Gibson and Rylan Clark, Best said that he was "excited" to be wearing a costume.

However, his mood shifted as he reflected on previous famous scarecrows, including the Wizard of Oz's who is famed for lacking a brain and Worzel Gummidge who is "widely regarded as an idiot".

Comparing those examples to himself, Best joked: "It's the final straw." Continuing the pun theme, he added: "But we're making hay! ", reports the Mirror.

Speaking during the segment, Best said: "Obviously famous scarecrows, I did some Googling we've got the scarecrow from the wizard of Oz, famously doesn't have a brain. We've got the scarecrow from Batman evil lunatic. And you've got Worzel Gummidge, who is widely regarded as an idiot."

Throwing his hands in the air in mock despair, he said: "So that was the final straw for me! Although to be fair I'm now making hay while the sun shines, because it is glorious out here."

In a controversial moment, Best pointed the camera at a scarecrow funeral just off-camera and said: "Look at this scarecrows. There's a funeral over there, the funeral is my career, apparently."

"We've got Fireman Sam, we've got Ace Ventura, we've got SpongeBob, and the whole of this village is basically covered in incredible scarecrows, famous faces, terrifying faces, all sorts."
