Ryan Kent to Rangers transfer swirls leaves legend asking Philippe Clement question over 'real' Ibrox issue

He is playing far from Ibrox not - but Kenny Miller reckon Rangers haven't got someone to fill their Ryan Kent void yet.

The winger departed the club during the summer transfer window and joined Turkish giants Fenerbahce as a free agent. His time in Turkey hasn't gone fully to plan and there's even been murmurings of an exit this winter, but back at Rangers, and Philippe Clement has inherited a width issue of his own from Michael Beale.

Todd Cantwell has been played out on the right, with Abdallah Sima and Rabbi Matondo starting the season as the club's only out and out wingers. Ross McCausland's emergence into the senior fold has eased some worries but Clement is still lacking in depth ahead of the January window. And former striker Miller knows a place in the squad is there for the developing star attracting Brentford interest, while admitting Kent's exit still looms large.

He told Clyde SSB: "What you also have to factor into McCausland's situation is how this manager maybe wants to play. And where are the wingers at the club?

"Where are the guys at the club who are capable of being direct and dribbling and putting defenders on the back foot? They've let a Ryan Kent go. You have let that type of player go.

"I don't really see any other real wingers in that Rangers team at this moment. There's definitely a place for him (McCausland) in that squad."
