Ryan Gravenberch 'prefers Liverpool to Manchester United' and more transfer rumours

Ryan Gravenberch would prefer a move to Liverpool over Manchester United, according to reports.

With the transfer window closing tomorrow United are still looking to add to their ranks before the deadline. A goalkeeper, left-back and midfielder are all on the agenda.

Erik ten Hag has wanted a further midfield option all summer but the need has become particularly urgent following injuries to Mason Mount and Kobbie Mainoo.

Gravenberch was being spoken about in the same breath as Jude Bellingham last year but started just six times for his new club after moving to Germany.

Ten Hag worked with Gravenberch extensively at Ajax but it appears Liverpool are leading the race for his signature. According to the Athletic, the Merseyside outfit have opened talks over a permanent deal for the 21-year-old.

It's claimed the move developed significantly' on Wednesday as Liverpool opened talks with Bayern on their respective valuations and Liverpool will submit a formal offer if the numbers are agreeable. It's added Gravenberch would prefer Liverpool over his other suitors, including United.

A sale may depend on Bayern's ability to sign a replacement and one player they have been linked with is Scott McTominay. However, Thomas Tuchel is not keen on signing the United man, according to The Telegraph.

It was suggested in sections of the German media this week that McTominay was a priority target for Bayern, but it's said sources have played down suggestions that head coach Tuchel is keen to sign him.

United have quoted £45 million to interested clubs for McTominay but are looking increasingly unlikely to sell following injuries to Mount and Mainoo.
