Roy Keane reacts after Erling Haaland five-goal haul sees Man City star match Manchester United icon

Roy Keane described Erling Haaland as a "machine" after watching the striker score five goals in Manchester City's 6-2 FA Cup win at Luton Town.

Pep Guardiola's side advanced to the quarter-finals of the competition after a dominant display at Kenilworth Road, during which Haaland was on top form.

In scoring five times, the Norwegian became the first player to net that number of goals in a single FA Cup match since George Best for Manchester United against Northampton Town in 1970.

Reacting to this performance from Haaland, Keane told ITV: "Not bad. He's not bad. He's prolific, making great runs and is a natural goalscorer. He is getting great service, he has that hunger. The kid is a machine, isn't he?"

Fellow pundit Ian Wright added: "It was always going to be an uphill task [for Luton] because when De Bruyne is playing and Haaland, and they click, they don't need much time and space. If there is space in behind and you put it in there, he [Haaland] will probably get onto it and at least hit the target."

City will now wait to discover which side they will face in the last eight of the FA Cup, which will be revealed on Wednesday evening. Coventry, Newcastle United and Leicester City have already booked their place in the next round, though three more ties must be decided on Wednesday evening. Chelsea host Leeds United at Stamford Bridge, Liverpool take on Southampton, Manchester United will make the trip to Nottingham Forest and Wolves host Brighton.

The Sky Blues will be ball number eight in the draw, which is expected to be held at 7:45pm.
