Alejandro Garnacho reveals Erik ten Hag advice after starring in Manchester United win vs Everton

Alejandro Garnacho revealed Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has tasked him with expressing himself, speaking after the 2-0 win over Everton at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Garnacho, who has developed at a rapid rate of knots this season, won each of United's two penalties against the Toffees – giving Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford the opportunities to add to their respective goal tallies. They both scored from the spot, with Fernandes giving Rashford the ball for the second penalty after he had netted from 12 yards earlier.

United had chances to extend their lead after the second goal, but they were unable to put a more convincing look on the scoreline. Garnacho was a constant threat, though, causing problems down both flanks, sending Everton's one way and then another with his close control and desire to fashion opportunities.

He was replaced by Antony after 83 minutes and earned a standing ovation from the home supporters. Garnacho is now one of United's most entertaining players and he suggested Ten Hag's advice has helped him grow into that role.

"The manager always wants me to go one-vs-one, to shoot, to do some dribbles, and today I won the two penalties," Garnacho told TNT Sports. "It is important to help the team."

United have moved back to within eight points of the Champions League places as a result of getting back to winning ways, following back-to-back Premier League defeats to Fulham and Manchester City. Fourth-placed Aston Villa take on fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
