Roy Keane fires nine-word demand to Erik ten Hag that Man United supporters will agree with

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane sent Erik ten Hag a clear demand about results this season after a narrow victory over Fulham at Old Trafford.

The Reds were slow out of the blocks on Friday night but felt they could have been in front at the interval after Bruno Fernandes was denied twice. With the clash looking to be petering out, substitute and debutant Joshua Zirkzee expertly turned Alejandro Garnacho's cross into the back of the net.

While the match will not live long in the memory, the result is the perfect outcome for Ten Hag whose job was under severe pressure last season after the Reds finished eighth. The Dutchman received criticism across the board with Keane one of those to pick faults with the United squad.

During his post-match talk with Sky Sports, Ten Hag enjoyed a light-hearted conversation with Keane after host Kelly Cates noted the Irishman was quiet. "I am just listening. There is a vibe going on I am just chilling out," Keane explained.

"You don't want to spoil the vibe?" Ten Hag questioned, "Not tonight," the former captain replied.

"Next week, I know that," the United manager said. "I'll be waiting. Just keep winning, it's so simple," the 53-year-old said with a smile.

While we have become accustomed to Keane's dry humour, it is clear United fans will have been thinking the exact same as him last night. Supporters will be fully aware that the good 'vibe' will only stay at Old Trafford if the Reds can continue to bank the points this season.
