Roy Keane delivers his verdict on Manchester United appointment of Erik ten Hag
Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has welcomed the club's decision to appoint Erik ten Hag as their new manager, insisting it is a good move.
Following months of speculation, the Ajax boss was appointed as United's new permanent manager last week. He was earmarked as a firm target for United several months ago and has proven to be a popular choice amongst the fans.
Ten Hag will be tasked with overseeing one of the biggest rebuilding projects that United have faced in recent years, with big changes needing to be made to the first-team squad. As well as that, the Dutchman needs to install a clear vision and philosophy for everyone to follow.

Keane has backed the decision made by the United hierarchy. However, he believes only time will tell whether or not he is the right man to lead the club back to where they want to be.
"I think it is a good appointment," Keane told Sky Sports. "With all the speculation it has been on the cards for the last few months and I think the club will be glad just to get the deal done.
"He can start looking at the club, albeit from the background because he does not start until July. He has got a solid CV and a good reputation, but the proof is in the pudding and we will see what he is like when he is in the job and whether he can get Manchester United back to where they need to be."
