Roy Keane furiously slams Nemanja Matic for 'inappropriate comments' after Man Utd draw

Roy Keane has torn into Manchester United star Nemanja Matic for making controversial comments after Thursday night's 1-1 draw with Chelsea.

The Serbian midfielder - who joined United from the Blues for £40million back in the summer of 2017 - featured in the midweek clash again his old side. The Londoners dominated proceedings at Old Trafford and finally broke the deadlock on the hour mark via a fizzing strike from Marcos Alonso. However, Matic teed up Cristiano Ronaldo to salvage a point for United just two minutes later.

But despite putting in a decent display, Matic's post-match comments landed him in hot water with Keane. The 33-year-old has confirmed that he's set to quit United at the end of the season, and he insisted that the club would always "be in his heart" alongside his former clubs, Chelsea and Benfica, during a post-match interview.

And Keane - who was left stunned by Matic's claim - scoffed at the midfielder's comments. He told Sky Sports: "Where’s the standards at the club? Matic’s talking about I’m leaving, I’ve had a great time, Man United will always be in my heart, oh and Chelsea as well, oh and Benfica don’t forget them, they all can’t be in your heart."

Keane then went one further by taking aim at Ralf Rangnick after the match for his selection decisions after Juan Mata made a rare cameo appearance from the bench. The 34-year-old has been a peripheral figure at Old Trafford over the past couple of seasons and is another star who is expected to quit the club in the summer.
