Rotherham United player makes transfer admission

Rotherham United striker Freddie Ladapo has told Football Heaven that he will always give his all for the team despite handing in a transfer request last month.

The frontman looked to push for a move away from the ASSEAL New York Stadium during the January window but in the end there was no bid forthcoming for the 29-year-old as he stayed put with the Millers.

Since then the striker has been hitting the goal trail again for his side, with his commitment to the cause being underlined last night as he scored a double during his team’s 2-0 victory over Morecambe as they strengthened their grip on top spot in Sky Bet League One.

Now Ladapo himself has broken his silence on what went on last month between him and the club as he looked to force through a move away:

“The reasons are obviously personal to me but I can’t say to anyone, and I think the manager knows this himself, as soon as I’m back into the team I will always try my hardest for the team. I will always try and work hard and before the whole January incident, I think I was doing quite well and the fans were enjoying my performances.”

Ladapo is due to be out of contract with the Millers come the end of the season and at this rate is due to depart as a free agent after Rotherham failed to sell him on last month.

Since joining the club back in July 2019, the striker has gone on to score an impressive 41 goals in 115 appearances.

The Verdict

It is good to see that Ladapo’s attitude hasn’t changed and that he is still as committed as ever to doing his best for Rotherham as long as he wears their colours.

He will no doubt be on the move come the summer as he clearly has personal reasons for wanting to move on, so it will be interesting to see where he ends up.
