Ross McCausland 'agrees' new Rangers deal until 2027 as rising star commits to Philippe Clement adventure
Ross McCausland has reportedly put pen to paper on a new four-year deal at Rangers, committing his future to Ibrox.
The Northern Ireland youngster, as revealed by Record Sport had been the subject of transfer interest from Premier League outfit Brentford with other reports suggesting Serie A sides were on his trail but was set to commit his future to the Ibrox side. Now McCausland, 20, who has been a feature under new boss Philippe Clement so far in this Scottish Premiership campaign is said to have signed on the dotted line with improved terms until the summer of 2027, according to Sky Sports.
Rangers would have risked losing the talented winger for a fee of around £350,000 if he had signed a pre-contract with a club outside of Scotland. But now Clement has another youth talent added to his arsenal, with McCausland the subject of high praise from the Belgian boss in recent weeks.
McCausland's deal was due to be up next summer, but now signs a bumper first-team contract as revealed by Record Sport.
