Ronda Rousey: UFC legend takes swipe at fans as she praises WWE fans

Ronda Rousey‘s achievements have made her a legend in both UFC and WWE and she is admired by fans of both sports.

However, she has noticed a difference when it comes to the attitude of those who love wrestling and those who prefer mixed martial arts.

The Baddest Woman on the Planet recently admitted she felt that the WWE Universe has more respect towards its Superstars than fans of the UFC have towards fighters.

During one of her recent gaming streams, Rousey took some time to answer questions from supporters and followers, and she was asked whether she thought WWE fans or UFC fans were better, to which she had an honest response.

“I would say that the WWE fans care more about the wrestlers than the UFC fans care more about the fighters,” she admitted (h/t eWrestlingNews).

“UFC fans have much less respect for the veterans and legends of the sport than WWE fans do.

“A lot of UFC fans are kind of like bandwagon fans in that way. The second you’re not on top, you’re dead to them. Where WWE fans are like, ‘This is the guy that did this 20 years ago’ and are still really excited. Whereas UFC fans now are like, ‘Forrest Griffin sucks.’”

After winning Olympic bronze in judo at the Beijing Games in 2008, Rousey branched off into a career in MMA. She made history on numerous occasions by competing in the UFC’s first female fight and winning the inaugural Women’s Bantamweight Championship. She also held the record for the amount of title defences by a woman, with six. 

In 2018, Rousey became the first woman to be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame, the same year she started her wrestling career, where she debuted with WWE at WrestleMania 35.
