Ronaldo, Varane, Fred and Shaw — Manchester United injury round-up and return dates
Injuries are piling up for Manchester United after they suffered two fresh blows during a 1-0 defeat to Everton on Saturday afternoon. Fred was forced off in the first half at Goodison Park and Cristiano Ronaldo later suffered a cut to his leg — but was able to play the entire 90 minutes.
Ralf Rangnick has seven days to patch up his squad for the Premier League meeting with Norwich City and he has already provided a less than encouraging update on Fred (hip). United were without four players for the game with Everton as Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Scott McTominay and Edinson Cavani sat out.
Cavani suffered a calf problem while on World Cup qualifying duty for Uruguay last month. Here is the current state of play on the treatment table at Carrington.
