Manchester United vs Chelsea LIVE highlights and reaction as Cristiano Ronaldo and Alonso score

Manchester United welcome Chelsea to Old Trafford on Thursday night.

United's 3-1 defeat against Arsenal at the weekend all but officially ended their hopes of finishing in the top four. An emotional Scott McTominay claimed United are now playing for 'pride' across the remaining four fixtures following that defeat.

United have Chelsea, Brentford, Brighton and Crystal Palace left to play this season before Erik ten Hag arrives at the club.

Rangnick's side are currently sixth in the Premier League and reluctantly securing Europa League football now seems the aim.

In regards to team news, Harry Maguire and Jadon Sancho have been ruled out of the game, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka also misses out. Fred, Edinson Cavani, Paul Pogba (all calf) and Luke Shaw (ankle) are all still out. Cavani is due back in training on Friday.

David de Gea

Kept the game goalless at the break with five saves, albeit all of them routine. Had no chance with Marcos Alonso's volley. 7

Diogo Dalot

Never got to grips with wing-back Alonso, who was effectively a winger and scored the opening goal. 5

Victor Lindelof

Loose with his positioning at times, especially in the first-half, but defended reasonably amid Chelsea's dominance. 6
